Elwood Ivan Travers, son of James Emory and Ida Rosetta Travers, passed away in Evansville, IN on June 3, 2007. The youngest of 7 children he was often teased as being the baby of the family. He was married to the former Virginia Fruehwald for 60 years and has 2 sons, Brett Travers of Florida and Dwayne Travers of Indiana. Elwood was born in Posey County, IN April 11, 1919 and was 88 years old. He suffered a fall at home and was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later. Most of his life was spent in Evansville, IN.
Elwood was retired from LEMCO engineers of St Louis, MO where he was Supervisor of electrical transmissions line right of way which entailed much travel around the country. He also served overseas in the U.S. Army during World War II participating in a weather reconnaissance team.
