Jeannine Ashby Bulkley Travers, 78, Henderson, died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at Redbanks nursing home.
She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Alzheimer's Support Group, was a former leader of the Nellie Group, belonged to the Bible study group, and had served on the Ministry Team. She was also a Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene E. "Gene" Travers Sr., who died May 2, 2001; her parents, Richard and Clara Beach Ashby; a sister, Elizabeth Weir; two brothers, James F. Ashby and Marvin E. Ashby.
Survivors include three sons, Jeff Buckley and his wife, Cathy, of Wabash, Ind., S. Jay Bulkley and his wife, Donita, of Winchester, Ky., and Eugene E. Travers Jr., and his wife, Adrienne, of Lexington, Ky.; a sister, JoAnne Matthews of Evansville; a brother, Don H. Ashby of Sanford, Fla.; seven grandchildren, McKenzie Buckley, Peyton Travers, Emma Travers, Chase Buckley, Bryan Bulkley, Davis Bulkley and Christopher Travers; nieces and nephews.
Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Ted Burke officiated. Entombment was in Fernwood Cemetery Mausoleum.
Pallbearers were Chase Buckley, Bryan Bulkley, Davis Bulkley, Kenny Brown, George Warren and Cary McGarrh.
