Following are a few of the cemeteries located in and around Mt Erie, IL where many of my Travers relatives are buried. I am only listing other pertinent people (ones buried alongside relatives) to assist in locating the graves of family members, should you want to do so.

This letter was written by Aunt Celina Travers McCreary to Marshall Berg in March of 1894. She would turn 73 years old a few days after this was written. I tried to scan it but the print is old and smeared, a copy of a copy, so I had to rewrite it for legibility purposes.

Colonel William Barrett Travis, commander at the Battle of the Alamo, was the oldest of eleven children of Mark Butler Travis and Jemima (Stallworth) Travis, and born in 1809.
